Some people speak of faith as an idea, and others live it in a way that leaves no doubt.

Arthur Besler belongs to the second group. From a young age, he witnessed a revelation so real and lasting that it shaped his life forever.

His story speaks powerfully to anyone searching for something deeper than routine religion.

Born on the Land, Rooted in Faith

Arthur J. Besler was born to Russian immigrants who came to the United States in 1907. They married in South Dakota and became part of the Homestead Act. Their family grew quickly—fifteen children in all—and together they worked a ranch of over five thousand acres. Cows and sheep filled the fields, and so did the constant work of farm life.

Despite the long hours and the noise of a full house, one moment remained steady each day. Arthur’s father would open the Bible each morning and read aloud. These readings left a mark on young Arthur that never faded. It was in these junctures of Scripture that something began to stir inside him.

A Child Meets the Holy Spirit

At nine years old, Arthur experienced something he could not fully explain. He felt a presence, one that brought peace and awe at the same time. It was the Holy Spirit. Two years later, that presence became even stronger.

At age eleven, Arthur began to speak in a language he had never learned. This was a spiritual moment. He had witnessed a revelation that changed him from the inside out. From that day forward, he knew he would never return to the life he once knew.

A Search for the Church That Reflects Jesus

As he grew, Arthur became active in different churches. He listened, learned, and served, but something felt missing. The churches he visited often taught about Jesus, but Arthur felt they weren’t walking closely enough with Him. There was a distance between the message and the mission.

He felt Jesus wanted more from His followers. Not more effort, but more connection. A deeper kind of commitment. Arthur discovered a profound truth during this time. It wasn’t enough to believe. Jesus wanted His people to move with purpose and to carry the Gospel to the world.

Still, Arthur did not yet understand his full role. He knew there was more, but he did not yet see it clearly.

Witnessed a Revelation: A Dream That Brought Clarity

In his thirties, Arthur had a dream unlike any other. A Bible, larger than life, appeared before him. The pages turned on their own and stopped at the book of Jeremiah. The verse that stood out was simple and direct:

“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” – Jeremiah 1:5

Arthur did not hear this as a general message. He knew Jesus was speaking directly to him. That dream confirmed what had stirred inside him for years. He had been called. Not only to follow Christ, but to speak for Him.

Once again, he had witnessed a revelation that shifted the direction of his life.

A Vision for the Church

With time and prayer, Arthur began to understand the structure God intended for the Church. Scripture outlines five core roles: apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor, and teacher. These are often referred to as the fivefold ministry. Each one serves a purpose, and together, they help the Church grow strong.

Yet in many churches, these roles were missing or misunderstood. Arthur saw that without all five parts, the Church could not function as it was meant to. He believed the Church needed to become active again, not just in words, but in Spirit.

He witnessed a revelation that the Church is more than a gathering. It is a living body, designed by Jesus to reach the world with power and truth.

Arthur Besler’s Testimony and Ongoing Call

What makes Arthur Besler’s testimony so powerful is not just the events he lived through. It is the way he responded. He chose a path, focused on obedience. He shared what he had seen. He taught what he had learned.

Arthur believes that every believer has the chance to experience this same intimacy with Jesus. It does not come from ritual or tradition. It comes from the Holy Spirit moving in real ways, just as it did when he was a boy.

He had witnessed a revelation and wanted others to see that it was possible for them too.

A Church in Need of Renewal

One of Arthur’s strongest convictions is that the Church needs a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. He often points to Pentecost as a model. The power that came upon the early believers is the same power available today. But too many churches have settled for less.

He teaches that the nine gifts of the Spirit—such as wisdom, healing, and prophecy—should still be active today. Without these gifts in motion, the Church becomes weak. With them, the Church becomes a powerful force for good.

Arthur has witnessed a revelation that many have missed. That the Spirit is not a past event. It is a present promise.

A Book That Speaks to the Heart of the Church

In his book How? How? How?: Jesus Can We Have Your Church Fired Up?, Arthur shares everything he has learned. This book is a message for the Church at large. Arthur speaks clearly about how the fivefold ministry should function and why it matters.

He shows how many churches operate with broken structures, leaving believers confused or unprepared. The book explains how the roles of apostle, prophet, evangelist, bishop, and teacher were designed to work together. When they do, the Church grows stronger. When they don’t, dysfunction sets in.

Arthur also speaks to the urgency of preparing for Jesus’ return. He invites readers to pray, watch, and step into their purpose.

If you want to understand your place in the Church or long to see the Holy Spirit move again in your community, this book offers a path forward. How? How? How?: Jesus Can We Have Your Church Fired Up? is both a question and a guide.

If you are tired of empty religion and ready for deeper truth, it may be time you too witnessed a revelation.
